OLIVE DAWN: ONE MONTH
Our sweet olive is one month old! A whole month of poop, breastfeeding, sister cuddles and lots of christmas fun.
Olive came into the world slowly and calmly and she has mostly stayed that way ever since. I was so so terrified of how it was all going to work out. I was so afraid that I was going to be a complete zombie and I truly count picture how I would be able to handle two kids and one who was a newborn. She has made it so easy! and my energy has increased by 10000000% in comparison to pregnancy!
She is truly the most alert baby that I have ever been around. Just awake and looking until its time to feed and sleep again. She sleeps in our bed with her DockaTOT but during the day loves her swing. I almost bought the Momaroo but decided to try that swing first before spending the big bucks and I am so glad I did.
Small Update:
Weight :about 10lbs
Clothes: size 3month
Sleeping: 9:45pm-1ish,feed, asleep till 5:30 again. <---its AMAZING
fussy time: 7/8-bed
breastfeeding CHAMP
recognizing familiar voices (mom,dad,sister)
Honestly the transition from a family of three to four has been great so far. All of the fears and anxieties I had haven't even been a slight part of our reality. It feels like she has been here all along :)

Olive Pregnancy
Our sweet Olive joined us on December 15th, 2016 at 4:36 (the nurse in me was dying to write 16:36 hehe). I found out I was pregnant with Olive the day after we came home from Tobys families branding. We were home for the weekend and I was late for my period but I hadn't really thought much of it. Got back to our apartment and right away decided to sent toby off to the store to get a test. And there it was, sure enough pregnant. Now it really wasn't the greatest shocker because about six months prior I had talked to Toby about getting off birth control...I hate the stuff. So we knew what could happen ;)
To my luck and sanity they called at 10:30 that night and told me YES come in at 7:00 am sharp! I feel like instantly there was color in my face all over again. Also an instant wave of anxiety as I realized this really was the last night of our family of three. I grabbed elly out of the crib and we all slept together that night before we became a family of four :)

Oh, and did I mention we were in the middle of wedding planning hehe. This was April and our wedding date was September 3rd! Eek. We contemplated postponing wedding or doing a destination but in the end kept the date and decided to just go with it..and call the dress people ASAP ha.
I just remember walking out into the living room and telling toby well "yep, I'm pregnant and its totally a girl" ha I just knew (and I have a theory, for another post). We really weren't all that shocked or taken back like it was the first time when we were nineteen. I called Mariah his sister right away she was actually the first person I told because I had told her I was late for my period.
Life went on and we graduated college, moved home, I passes NCLEX and we started our new jobs. The pregnancy was a total breeze, no sickness and honestly GREAT energy. Like most second pregnancies go we were so busy that it felt like it was flying by.
We found out it was a girl at about 12 weeks from some blood testing and neither of us were surprised. My due date was set for December 18th. By the time our beautiful perfect wedding was over (another post...) the pregnancy really started to hit me. I was about 25 weeks and Toby was beginning the outfitting season. He would be gone for weeks at a time, in the mountains with no cell phone reception and then would come out for a day maybe two before going back it. I was lonely and tired! I was working two nights a week about an hour away and between elly starting preschool, a new job and a new house with a puppy I was pretty wore out most days. But still feeling pretty good until that 34 week mark...
Towards the end of my pregnancy once Toby was finally home (end of November) I was miserable and my three year old was just too much for my lack of energy. Toby would walk in the door from work and I would literally go lay down and cry and take a nap because I was just so so exhausted. At about 35 weeks my doctor told me I was 3cm dilated and 80% effaced. It totally gave me some hope that "yes, pregnancy does end!!"However I stayed 3cm and 80% literally until my induction. It was so hard to hear every week. Lots of tears and pasta that last month!
We knew baby was getting big and with not making any progress and living a good 35 minutes away I decided to schedule an induction on the 12th. Well my doctor at my next appointment told me it had to be moved to the 15th. Looking back now it really doesn't seem like it was a big deal but man in that moment it was just devastating!
The day before my induction we were all packed up to go stay at my mother in laws- who would be watching elly. They called at about 7:30 and told us to not come in that they didn't have a room. Again I was heartbroken. We decided to go stay with my mother in law anyways because I could stand the thought of unpacking. Again tears flowed and I may have said "I am going to be pregnant forever" a couple times haha.
To my luck and sanity they called at 10:30 that night and told me YES come in at 7:00 am sharp! I feel like instantly there was color in my face all over again. Also an instant wave of anxiety as I realized this really was the last night of our family of three.
